Since the success of the London 2012 Olympic Beach Volleyball at the Horse Guards Parade, the sport has grown in popularity across the capital. The fantastic volleyball court pictured above was only a temporary venue unfortunately, but fret not, as there are many places you can still play some volleyball in London. We’ve taken a look at some of the best places to play beach volleyball in London and how to book them. Very few people know about Crystal Palace National Sports Centre’s beach volleyball courts but this venue really does have every sport you can think of. Situated just minutes away from Crystal Palace station, it’s a great and accessible place to play beach volleyball in South London.

Located in the borough of Wandsworth, Barn Elms Sports Centre is another great place to play beach volleyball in London. This venue also holds family beach volleyball sessions at the weekends from 11am to 12pm so why not take the kids along for a great fun day out. An adult sessions takes place from 12pm to 1pm and is a great place to meet new people with an interest in sports.

These beach courts were initially installed in anticipation for the 2012 Olympics and have since proved to be such a success that they are still there to this day. When the courts first opened, professional volleyball player Gabi Medricka (pictured above) even put in an appearance to mark the occasion.

Looking to play beach volleyball in East London? Look no further than SideOut beach in Leyton. Only a 5 minute walk from Leyton tube station, this is yet another hidden gem. It has a fully equipped clubhouse including changing rooms, showers and a cafe-bar. If you really take to the sport then you can become a member and book a court for only £12 per hour.
