Feltham’s Reach Academy has picked up Playfinder’s Outstanding Sports Venue Award for the month of March.

The academy is based in Hounslow and has a fantastic rooftop 3G five-a-side football pitch. Reach is a publicly funded, independently-governed school which provides free education to local children between 2-18 years old.

Ofsted’s last evaluation ranked the school as Outstanding and earlier this year Kate Middleton visited the children as its supported by her patronage and mental health charity Place2Be.

As well as the rooftop pitch there is top-quality indoor sports halls which accommodates four courts to enable people to enjoy sports all year around.

Last month’s grassroots award, which is determined by Playfinder users, was based on pitch quality, venue amenities and customer experience.

Playfinder is a platform for sports players who want to find and book sports venues in London. Users have the choice of over 7,000 venues across the city for 16 featured sports.

Jamie Foale, Co-Founder of Playfinder, commented: “Reach Academy offers a truly iconic experience with its rooftop football pitch. Grassroots sport is always fun and a great way to get together with friends, but playing on a roof offers something special and our users clearly see that too.”

Clubs and Sports Coordinator Jennie Tweedy said: “We are very proud to receive this award from Playfinder, the recognition will help to raise awareness to our facilities and will increase the use of the pitch and our other spaces. I’d like to thank the MLP team for all their help and support.”
