There are lots of football pitches for hire whether you’re keen to book one-off football fixtures or block book league games. Camden also houses 11-a-side pitches for the big brother format of football. Badminton is hugely popular in London and indoor courts can be hired without issue as well as tennis courts. Outdoor tennis courts can be located for hire in Camden too. Squash provides a superb work-out and Camden has a strong selection of courts for booking. Swimming is a great way to keep fit and Camden has a range of pools to choose from depending on where you’re based in the borough.
Calthorpe Project Sports Facilities is one of the top football venues in the borough. There is a stunning astroturf pitch for hire that can be used for five-a-side and six-a-side football fixtures. This quirky football pitch has cool murials on one of the walls that runs along the astro and floodlights meaning games can be played throughout the year. Anyone travelling here via the underground can either get to Kings Cross or Russell Square – both of which are a short distance away. It is also possible to drive to the venue, but be aware there is a pay-and-display machine in operation. Be prepared to arrive changed or happy to change pitch-side as there are no changing rooms onsite.
Camden Rhino Turf football facility is a short stroll from Camden Town tube station and Camden Town Overground. The venue is nestled to the west of Chalk Farm and just a touch north of the famous Camden canal. Grassroots football players can either enjoy five-a-side, eight-a-side or nine-a-side games here on a smart astroturf pitch. Anyone wanting to get changed into their footy kit here can do so in the changing rooms that makes it ideal for a lunch-time game or one straight after work. Don’t worry about not being able to play throughout the winter as the pitch is surrounded by powerful floodlights.
Haverstock School is one of the finest football facilities in the Camden area. The football venue is situated very close to the fantastic Roundhouse performing arts and concert venue. There is the capability to play 5-a-side, 7-a-side and 11-a-side football here on an immaculate astroturf surface. Changing rooms are available here for those coming from work or looking to head out afterwards to any of the fine establishments along the Camden canal. Floodlights allow play to continue throughout the winter months and Haverstock School also has access to free parking for those arriving by car.
