After a hectic Christmas break, we’re all settling back into the usual office routine. Lucky for us, getting back to work means getting back into playing sport. It’s getting pretty cold out there, so if you’re looking for somewhere new to play this year and want the guarantee of a game despite the threat of rain or, dare I say… snow, we’ve got some great indoor sports venues for you to try out.
This North London venue has some quality indoor tennis courts for you to make your weekly home. A 5 minute walk from Caledonian Road tube station makes this a great option for an after work or lunchtime game. Take advantage of the the changing rooms and free parking facilities and get on court.
If netball’s more your game, you’ll find a whole host of courts across London, but Globe Academy’s indoor court is one of the best. You can head to the South London venue straight from work without the worry of changing first as there are well-maintained changing rooms onsite. Elephant & Castle is nearest rail and underground station.
Head to Crest Academy in North West London if you’re looking for quality badminton courts. The sports hall is well looked after and badminton nets are provided for your booking, however it’s advised that you call ahead for racket and shuttlecock hire. Neasdon is the nearest underground station but you can also use the car park for free.
Tooting Leisure Centre has a number of excellent sport facilities, and their squash court is no exception. What’s better than a game of squash after work or in your lunch break, while everyone else is battling the cold? You can hire rackets at the South London venue and there’s an internal league if you’re looking for competitive matches. Just head to Tooting Broadway tube station to check it out for yourself.
If you want to swap your 5 a side games to futsal, Harris Academy in Bermondsey has an indoor hall fully equipt for the South American sport. With standard futsal goals and pitch markings, this South East London venue is the perfect place to show off your skills and ball control. Bermondsey underground station is nearby and the facility has changing rooms to make your transition from work to play that much easier.
